Jim Ball Winery
The Jim Ball Winery is a new small winery specializing in Pinot Noir in the Anderson Valley between Booneville and Philo, CA. The production portion of the winery consists of a grouping of simple barn type structures that house a barrel room, a fermentation tank room, a laboratory and storage room and a trash room with electrical room behind. A future tasting room building is planned for the area in front of the barrel building. The barrel room building is constructed with insulated concrete forms (ICF) and a steel truss supported roof. The tank room building is a steel frame building and the other two buildings are wood frame. All of the structures are sheathed in wood board and batten siding and corrugated metal roofs. The work flow and arrangement of buildings was carefully laid out in accordance with the wishes of the owner Jim Ball and the consulting winemaker, Greg La Folette, during the design process.
